Catholic Magazine Website - NZ Catholic
Overview
NZ Catholic is a fortnightly newspaper that is distributed throughout New Zealand. They provide their content in the newspaper format and as an online newspaper magazine and through the website. The website needed an update with the following goals:
- The most important function for our newspaper website is clarity of information and readability - on all platforms.
- We need to include and improve our subscriber/donate panel
- We would want space for video embedding and a digital edition embed
- We want a design that offers white uncluttered backgrounds, simple navigation with clear subscriber buttons, clear side panels for advertising, social media links and quick links to stories or events.
Objectives
We worked with the project manager, staff members, and volunteers who update and manage their websites. We redesigned the main Auckland Catholic website and the websites of the other charities under their umbrella.
The Diocese initially approached me for advanced WordPress one-on-one training for their web manager. A few issues presented themselves in the course of the training, which, if left, would increasingly cause significant difficulties for a large number of their sites. I was able to provide consultancy services so that the Diocese was able to make informed decisions regarding the way forward.
Kitchen Table Web Design also provides and continues to provide web design support services so that the Diocese can implement its plan to provide secure, stable, and attractive websites for the parishes and ministries it oversees.

Thanks so much getting this up and going so quickly - I realise there was a considerable amount of weekend time given up to get this live before the expiry of the old platform.
