Charity Website - Case Studies
Deacons of Aotearoa
Non-profit Web Design
Anne approached us on behalf of the Diakonia Aotearoa New Zealand Association. They wanted a website that informs and promotes their ministry as well as the ability to offer courses. They ran a Facebook page but felt that was now becoming inadequate for their organisational needs.

Their goals for the website
- Enable deacons and deacons in training from all around this country to find relevant information about this ministry and where to go for more information.
- Enable deacons and deacons in training in this country to keep up to date with international developments.
- Provide links to other related organisations.
- The web design company would assist them in keeping the website up to date and adding information.
Their target audience:
- deacons (ordained ministers of the church), people who are interested in this ministry
- deacons in training and those who train them
- people seeking new 'careers' in church life
Our Approach:
Phase 1: Research - We did some initial research to determine the best way to organise the content it would be easy to find within the website.
Phase 2: Styling and Functionality - Our goal was to provide a visual experience that establishes credibility and trust.
Phase 3: Launch and Ongoing Support - We provided a website care plan for ongoing support. Also provided were a series of Loom videos with instructions for editing the website.
From Reverend Anne Russell-Brighty
We are getting lots of compliments about the website.
I am glad that we have a website care plan so I am confident that the website is being well maintained. Also I can give you additional content to add to the site without any additional charges.
I love how you have made our course look on the website.

Red Hill Methodist Camp
Non-profit Web Design
We were approached on behalf of Red Hill Methodist Camp. After doing significant upgrades to their camp facilities, they needed a website that informs and promotes their ministry within their tight budgetary constraints. We were happy to help.

From Rowan
On an extremely limited budget at Redhill Camp, we were looking for a good website creator and manager. We have had several disappointments and some seriously expensive quotes. Another Christian camp introduced us to Kitchen Table Web Design. Tanya was so helpful in getting our website up and running and for the best price. After six months, we are still adding information to our site as we are able.

Catholic Diocese of Auckland
Non-profit Web Design
We provide technical WordPress Support for the Web Administrator on an on-going basis. Recently, (December 2020) worked with Catholic Diocese of Auckland to redesign their main website to mark the release of their Mata kaupapa Mihana — The Diocesan Mission Map with a particular focus on improving user experience.
From the Projects/Systems & Performance Manager, December 2020
We are getting some great feedback on the new design. One person I meet with today told me, “I looked through the new website a couple of days ago and it’s amazing. It’s so clean and well organised. I could find everything I needed. Well done”. It’s feedback like this that makes it all worthwhile – thank you for your input.

From the Website Administrator in 2017
When I started looking for trainers on WordPress it was a very difficult task until I met with Tarnya. She was knowledgeable, professional and so easy to work with. I immediately felt very relaxed after meeting with her and new that the huge task in front of me was going to be a lot easier with her help and support.
She created great training videos, replied to my emails and phone calls really quickly, worked with our IT guys and myself in a professional manner. This has been 2-year partnership that has produced 60 new websites and there are more to come, so having Tarnya working with me makes my job a lot less stressful.
Thank you Tarnya for all that you have done throughout this process.

NZ Catholic - Magazine
Non-profit Web Design
NZ Catholic is an award-winning fortnightly newspaper which is distributed throughout New Zealand.
The website was in need of an update with the following goals:
- The most important function for our newspaper website is clarity of information and readability - on all platforms - from desktop, tablet to mobile. Our job is to tell/share the news.
- We need to include and improve our subscriber/donate panel
- We would want space for video embedding and a digital edition embed
- We want a design that offers white uncluttered backgrounds, simple navigation with clear subscriber buttons, and clear side panels for advertising, social media links and quick links to stories or events.

The Results
Thanks so much getting this up and going so quickly - I realise there was a considerable amount of weekend time given up to get this live before the expiry of the old platform.
Looks great!

The new website is beautiful, simple, and intuitive. There are tips along the way, drop-downs, search-engines, and the latest tools. The website is new, easy to use and full of interesting and helpful resources. What’s there not to love?
Special thanks to Tarnya Burge, who, redesigned the entire website and imported the content into the site. This lady is a genius whose work is truly extraordinary. We thank God for her fantastic skills and supportive heart.
