Want to customise your ecommerce website? Here is a tutorial showing you how to remove the sidebar from the Woocommerce shop pages.
Who doesn’t want the option of removing unwanted sidebars? Genesis Framework child themes make it easy to remove the sidebar from Woocommerce shop pages. These child themes come with built-in layout options. The default layout for the site can be set in the WordPress dashboard > Genesis > Theme Settings. There is also the option of making the layout full width for the whole site, removing the sidebar from all pages in your website.
The beauty of Genesis is that you can also set the layout on a page by page basis. This means with Genesis Themes, it is easy to remove the sidebar from woocommerce site pages while having a sidebar on other pages. However, you will need to have the Genesis Connect for Woocommerce Plugin activated for this to work.
Removing the sidebar from a particular woocommerce product:
Go to the product page, and scroll down to see the layout options.
If they are not visible, click on the screen options at the top of the page and click the arrow to the right of the words.
Make sure that the layout settings box is checked.
Continue to scroll down the page, to the page options and select full width. This will remove the sidebar from the woocommerce product page. Do this for all your products and all subsequent products.
You can also do this with the Woocommerce Shop page and the product category pages.
Depending on the number of products, it may be quicker to set the genesis theme setting to full width and then set the layout for those pages you would like to include a sidebar.
This way gives the whole page width to the woocommerce pages:
